Our knowledgeable guides will tell you fascinating things about the history of Arita, the Uchiyama district with its distinctive townscape and the Nishi Arita district.

Fees for Guided Tours (all rates per hour)

1-5 people 1,500 yen per hour One guide
6-15 people 3,000 yen per hour One guide
16-30 people 4,500 yen per hour Two guides
31-45 people 6,000 yen per hour Three guides
46-60 people 7,500 yen per hour Four guides

Regarding the number of guides:
 The number of tour guides was decided in consideration of the security of our visitors and the distance the guides' voices can reach.

Rule of guide rate

  • The above listed rates do not include taxi fares and entrance fees.
  • No fees are charged for the time of lunch breaks during the tours.
  • We use taxis or community buses to move visitors around.
  • As guide of school excursion sets additional charge, please contact.
  • At the time of protector companion, guide charges who is lower than junior high student are free.

1. IZUMIYAMA Quarry → 2. Saga Prefectural Kyushu Ceramic Museum → 3. Gen'emon Kiln

1. Izumiyama Quarry (Designated National Historical Site)
  Learn more about Japan's first kaolin quarry and the raw material of porcelain clay itself!
2. The Saga Prefectural Kyushu Ceramic Museum
  Admire and learn about ceramics from the entire Kyushu region.
3. Gen'emon Kiln
  Observe professional potters applying traditional techniques in manufacturing Arita porcelain.

 ②Course to touch for history of Arita

1. IZUMIYAMA Quarry → 2. Back Street Tonbai Walls → 3. Touzan Shrine → 4. Remains of Tengudani Kiln  → 5. Arita-kan

1. Izumiyama Quarry (Designated National Historical Site)
  Learn more about Japan's first kaolin quarry and the raw material of porcelain clay itself!
2. Back Street Tonbai Walls
  Take a walk through Arita's historical narrow alleys and enjoy a scenery preserved from the time of Edo-Japan.
3. Touzan Shrine
  Take a look at a temple gate and guardian dogs made from Arita porcelain.
4. Remains of Tengudani Kiln
  Visit the ruins of an early climbing kiln constructed at the beginning of the Edo-period.
5. Arita-kan
  Enjoy the performance by mechanical porcelain dolls and have a nice cup of coffee from a porcelain cup of your choice! (additional costs accrue)
